Workshop on "Chemo-hydrodynamic patterns and instabilities"

Brussels, 28 - 30 October 2009

The present workshop will focus on discussing spatio-temporal patterns and instabilities that appear when chemical species are advected by complex flows or when chemical reactions are able to modify or trigger hydrodynamic flows by changing a physical property (density, viscosity or surface tension) of the fluid at hand. The various topics to be addressed will typically be convective flows around chemical fronts, Marangoni flows in reactive drops or films, chemical reactions in porous media or complex flows, microfluidic and biological applications of chemo-hydrodynamic coupling.

If you would like to attend the conference, please fill in the registration form mentioning whether you would like to give an oral talk or present a poster. The deadline for submitting abstracts for talks/posters is fixed to July 10th, 2009. The notification of acceptance of oral talks and posters will be sent out on July 24th, 2009. There is no registration fee but registration is mandatory for organization purposes. A banquet will be organized on Thursday October 29, 2009. Hotel reservations must be made directly by the participants (see links below).
