Workshop on "Molecular Complexes in our Atmosphere and Beyond" |
Brussels, 20 - 23 April 2010 Organized by Michel Herman (Université libre de Bruxelles, Belgium) & Rich Saykally (University of Berkeley, USA) |
| Molecular complexes, in the sense of free, isolated, van der Waals and hydrogen-bonded molecules, are ever more often considered as potential and sometimes already confirmed contributors to several important, physical and chemical processes in a variety of environments, e.g. planetary atmospheres and the interstellar medium. There is an essential and growing need for more systematic experimental and theoretical investigations in the laboratory, which, in turn can stimulate dedicated remote sensing missions to explore these frontier molecular systems and related close and distant phenomena. The aim of the workshop is to gather experts from different scientific areas to design a viable plan for addressing these issues. In addition to invited speakers it is hoped to attract a selected set of state-of-the-art contributions from both remote sensing and laboratory works. |
